Background
Sports have always been a big part of my life. Even at a young age, I was passionate enough to know that I wanted to compete on the world stage. I trained as a swimmer for many years but put that venture on hold to pursue an academic one. Now, having graduated and worked as an engineer at a great medical device company, I am more dedicated than ever to live my lifelong dream of being a professional, international athlete. I’ve summoned all my strength and determination, and I am engineering my path to success.
Triathlon includes three sports: swimming, cycling and running. When I began in this sport, I quickly moved from an Age-Group (amateur) to an Elite (professional, international triathlete) racing with a 6th place overall at the 2008 World Age-Group Championship. As as an elite athlete, I train between 16–24 hours a week and continue to learn to master each of the three sports in order to become the best triathlete I can be. By 2011 I had some top ten performances at the Pan American Cup circuit and placed 8th at the Canadian Elite National Championship. I am motivated more than ever to continue this journey and improve my rankings to become a top professional, international triathlete!
